STORY OF THE DAY
VETERANS PORTRAIT PROJECT & RECEPTION
Sponsored again for the 4th year, this project in conjunction with the Notre Dame School in New Hyde Park, based on the "Portraits of Courage" book by President George W. Bush, introduces the students to veterans from all branches of service. The students interview the veterans, then draw sketches of their veterans that will be turned into paintings. In early November, all of the student work will be unveiled at a special exhibit at the Long Island Children's Museum in Uniondale, NY and will remain on display for all visitors to see. You are welcome to join us on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 5:30pm for the opening reception.
