Who we are:

• Military Blue Star Mothers of Nassau County NY 14 is a 501(c) 3 charity and a chapter of the national organization of Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. We are mothers of sons and daughters who are currently serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces.
• We do many things to help our veterans, help support our current military and their families, honor the fallen, and offer support and encouragement to our fellow moms.
• We march in parades, attend street fairs to help raise money, attend the many veteran ceremonies and place wreathes at Christmas time and flags in May at Pinelawn National Cemetery, speak at various community groups to spread the word of what we do and receive support for our projects. We also work with various veteran groups with their projects. We also attend the funerals for any of our fallen military members.
• In the past we have provided dinners for our veterans, collected necessities for homeless and needy veterans, and have had drives to collect items to send to our deployed military members.
• We just erected a sign in the Town if Oyster Bay to honor and remember the 22 a Day who have died from suicide and we are planning to erect three more signs in the other towns of Nassau County.
• We will also lend support to Gold Star Mothers, who are mothers of sons and daughters who have died while on active duty. There is also another designation – Silver Star Mothers who are moms who have a son or daughter who has been injured in combat.
